SURVEY SAYS……..

Thank you everyone who participated in the NENA survey.  The spring programs we had were a great success.  The survey results are as follows:

  • 57% of the attendees were there for the 1st time.

Where do you work?

  • 75% in a Hospital
  • 14% in Doctor’s Offices or Clinics
  • 9% in Home Care
  • 5% in Long Term Care
  • 4% as School Nurses
  • <1% in Rehabilitation
  • <1% Retired

How long have you been a nurse?

  • <1yr-10yrs = 15%
  • 11yrs-20yrs=16%
  • 21yrs-30yrs=27%
  • 31yrs-40yrs=41%
  • 40+yrs = 9%

      How long have you been at your current facility?

  • <1yr-10yrs=36%
  • 11yrs-20yrs=19%
  • 21yrs-30yrs=17%
  • 31+yrs=8%

     What are your issues in the workplace?

  • 55% said staffing
  • 37% said salary
  • 38% said healthcare benefits
  • 15% said retirement benefits
  • 26% said they need a stronger voice on nursing issues
  • 15% said workplace safety
  • Others included:
    • Increase in cost of RN License    
    • Increase in reportable events
    • Holding of raises due to economy
    • Being sent home on low patient census days

In response to the surveys, we will be offering 2 CE programs in New Hampshire and 2 CE programs in Connecticut in the fall.  Thank you again for participating in the survey.  We look forward to seeing you in the fall.
